Sean Heeran

Life Coach

Welcome. Who I Am:

I realized that after spending 15 years in one career, I was no longer fulfilled. Call it a mid-life crisis, call it an awakening--but it was a little scary and full of new possibilities. In my new career search, the common thread I noticed was that I wanted to help people. In 2018 I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Master's Degree in Counseling. I then applied to take an exam with the National Board for Certified Counselors, passing the test and earning my credential as a National Certified Counselor, #1123686.

Why "Life Coach"?

In one word: Flexibility
The term Life Coach allows me the most flexibility to work with a wide variety of people and to cover a wide range of topics. I can work with kids or adults. I can work in a variety of settings: your home, a park or coffee shop, over the internet. And we can work on a whole range of issues.

What Can We Work On?

Pretty much whatever YOU want! That's the beauty of flexibility. Here are some of the topics I've worked on with clients:
Adults:
Trauma
Career Issues
Loss & Grief
Depression
Anxiety

Family Issues
Time Management
Budgeting / Finances
Sexual Issues
Personality Inventories (such as the MBTI)
Children:

Friendships & Relationships
Behavior Issues
Motivation
Communication Skills

Empathy
Academics
Career Interests

Social Competency
Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)

Suicidal Ideation
These categories are flexible too, of course. Kids may need to work on anxiety or time management, just as adults may want to work on communication skills.

Why Choose Me?

I'm passionate about helping people achieve their full potential. Autonomy is very important and I want you to become your best self. And while I may be able to provide you with new ways of looking at things, I do not believe in offering advice--only options.
I listen.
I'm analytical. I often think outside the box for solutions.
Many people think they are the only ones who think or feel a certain way, but that's not been my experience. I enjoy normalizing thoughts and feelings for people so they know they aren't alone.

Pricing

Our initial 15-minute consultation will be free of charge. I want us to meet each other and discuss your goals. This enables both of us to see if we'll be a good fit. (Sometimes personalities just don't seem to mesh, and that's ok--but I don't want to accept your money if I haven't helped you.)

If we decide to move forward together, my standard rate is $50 an hour.
